Syrdarya CCGT 2 Construction Starts, Prioritizing Community and Sustainability

On December 22, 2023, a construction has officially begun on the landmark Syrdarya CCGT 2 project, a transformative endeavor poised to strengthen Uzbekistan's energy infrastructure and power a brighter future for the region.

Enersok FE LLC, the project company, selected HARBIN ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL COMPANY LIMITED (HEI) as its EPC Contractor through a meticulous competitive bidding process. HEI's proven track record in responsible construction, aligned with its commitment to environmental and social responsibility, and made it an ideal partner for this critical project.

Before officially launching construction, HEI, alongside its key subcontractors CNI22, CHCI, and TEPC have completed critical pre-mobilization tasks under Enersok FE LLC's management.

These activities included:

  • Survey Works: Ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the project site.
  • Relocation of Irrigation Ditches: Minimizing the project's impact on surrounding communities and their agricultural activities.
  • Relocation of Existing OHTL: Making a way for new infrastructure within the designated project boundaries.

As construction gains momentum, several key activities are currently underway on-site, showcasing the project's dynamic progress:

  • Site Preparation
  • Accommodation and Office Buildings Construction
  • Access Road Construction
  • Pile Construction

Investing in the Community

Enersok FE LLC and HEI are deeply committed to creating positive impacts for the local community. By prioritizing the hiring of local labor resources from Bayaut, Havas, and Shirin districts, the project is generating valuable job opportunities and contributing to the region's economic development.

Looking Ahead

The power plant will be fully operational in 1st quarter of 2026, its two gas turbines and one steam turbine will generate much-needed power for the region, contributing to the nation's energy security and sustainable development, producing 1.600 GW of electricity.
