ENERSOKis in charge of the construction and operation of the Syrdarya2,Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Project (the ‘Project’), a new gas fired Independent Power Plant (IPP) with a power generation capacity close to1,600 MW.The Project siteis located approximately 10 km west of Bekabad and right next to Shirin, in the Syrdarya region in Eastern Uzbekistan(150 km from Tashkent). The anticipated schedule for the Project is 39months (NTP issued in March 2023) for construction and 25 years of operation.The selected EPC Contractor is Harbin Electric International Company (“HEI”).

-Project ESIA (Environmental and Social Impact Assessment),
-LALRP (Land Acquisition and Livelihood Restauration Plan),

-ENERSOK ESMS (Environmental and Social Management System),
-ENERSOK CESMP (Construction Environmental and Social Management Plan)and subsequent monitoring plans designed to monitor the ESHS impacts during the construction phase of the Project,
-EPC ESMSand subsequent plans &procedureswhere all provisions/obligations related to constructionare cascaded down to the EPC Contractor and its sub-contractors. A IESC (Independent Environmental and Social Consultant) has been nominated to monitor and report on the environmental and social performance during the construction phase.

Main Purpose of Role – Key role and responsibilities
The Operation Manager is responsible for the overall coordination of any matters/subjects linked with operation related to the project (including commissioning) , following the standards, documentation and monitoring organisation. Main activities will be :
- Managing, overseeing and monitoring the daily operations
- Mastering technical, economical and environmental performances
- Monitoring and control of operation parameters (energy, fuel, water, …) and providing daily reporting
- Leading and directing the work of operation staff and coordinating activities with O/M staff (plant engineers, supervisors, on-shift operators, safety and environmental engineers, storekeepers, laboratory technicians,…) in relation with Maintenance manager and COO
- Ensuring that operation and safety procedures, plant start-up, normal operations, off-normal operations, shutdown, are followed
- Ensuring compliance with electricity sales and programs
- Coordination with grid operator, fuel supplier, off-taker
- Carrying out periodic tests
Ensuring water chemistry control and water treatment: feed-water, cooling water, waste water, handling and storage of chemicals Monitoring operation and monitoring of gas (H2, CO2…) The operation manager is working closely with other managers and especially Maintenance/ Engineering manager and reporting directly to COO. The role is 100% site based.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years experience in thermal power plant field and 4 years of experience in the required position or similar
- Proven ability to minimize thermal power plants operating costs through effective planning
- Demonstrated ability to lead a work team
- Proficient knowledge in thermal power plant operation: performance control, operating procedures efficiency, organization assessment, operating personnel assessment, equipment and persons safety/security, rules & instructions
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English (written and verbal) at all levels of the organization. Another language would be a plus.
- Notions of Russian / Uzbek are strong assets.
